MY ATHLETE IDOL

Defia Rosmaniar

Defia Rosmaniar (born 25 May 1995) is an Indonesian taekwondo practitioner.[1][4] She won medals at several multi-sport events, including Asian Games, Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, SEA Games and Islamic Solidarity Games. She won Indonesia's first gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games, held in Indonesia.

From junior high school she has participated in taekwondo until now, taekwondo which is coached by her coach namely Sabeumnim Syamsudin and Sabeumnim Soleh, a unit of the Bogor Regional Police (bogor city). they are people who are very valuable to Defia Rosmaniar to this day. The beginning of the class she was in was in the Kyorogi class until she finally switched direction to the Poomsae class because of her illness, but that didn't rule out the possibility that thanks to real practice and believing in a miracle she was able to attend and was able to enter the National Poomsae National Training Center until now.

Defia Rosmaniar knew the sport of taekwondo from her older cousin when she was still at SMPN 1 Cibungbulang, Bogor. At first, Defia was not too serious about practicing taekwondo. But after a while she finally liked sports that rely on the ability of the hands and feet because she often practiced. On her way as a taekwondo athlete Defia won her first gold medal at the U-17 Korea Open Gwangju in 2012 in the individual and mixed team categories.

Defia Rosmaniar donated gold to Indonesia from the taekwondo branch in the 2018 Asian Games women's individual poomsae. In the final duel at the Jakarta Convention Center, Defia defeated Iran's representative, Salahshouri Marjan, with a score of 8,690 - 8,470. In the round of 16, Defia eliminated Wong Kai Yu from Hong Kong. While in the quarterfinals he beat Tuyet Van Chau from Vietnam. In the semifinals, Defia beat Korea's representative, Jihye Yun with a score of 8,520 - 8,400. This gold achievement made Defia make history for Indonesia. Yes, this gold medal is Indonesia's first gold from the taekwondo branch throughout its participation in the Asian Games.

Besides being busy as an athlete, Defia also has a hobby of writing. For her, writing is better than spending time with gadgets. However, writing remains only a hobby. She has no desire to publish the results of her writings.

I made Defia Rosmaniar my inspiration because I have the same interest as Defia, which is taekwondo. I feel motivated and proud of Defia for having made Indonesia and the sport of taekwondo proud.
